The topic OpenAI’s personal finance features for ChatGPT expands to more customers is currently the subject of lively discussion — readers and analysts are keeping a close eye on developments.
This is taking place in a dynamic environment: companies’ decisions and competitors’ reactions can quickly change the picture.
June 30, 2026: Personal finance is now available to ChatGPT Plus customers in the U.S., expanding the feature from OpenAI’s $100/month plan to the $20/month version. Original story from last month is below.
“Today we’re releasing a preview of a new personal finance experience in ChatGPT to Pro users in the U.S.,” OpenAI announced.
“Now you can securely connect your financial accounts, see a dashboard of where your money is going, and ask ChatGPT questions grounded in your financial context – all while staying in control of your data.”

OpenAI is limiting the release for now so it can “learn from real-world use, improve the experience, and expand thoughtfully.”
To get started, open Finances from the sidebar in ChatGPT and select ‘Get started’ or start a conversation from anywhere in ChatGPT by saying ‘@Finances, connect my accounts’.
ChatGPT will then guide you through securely linking accounts through Plaid, with Intuit support coming soon. After you authenticate, ChatGPT will begin syncing and categorizing your data, which may take a few minutes.
ChatGPT will present a personal finance dashboard that can show up-to-date data around spending, subscriptions, upcoming payments, and portfolio performance.

Users can also provide important context to ChatGPT, like financial goals to keep in mind.
Financial data can be removed at any time. OpenAI also provides controls for removing personal finance information from ChatGPT’s memory feature. The company says private chats in ChatGPT will not use personal finance data.
