The topic Upcoming Beats headphones teased by Lamine Yamal: New design, pink colorway is currently the subject of lively discussion — readers and analysts are keeping a close eye on developments.
This is taking place in a dynamic environment: companies’ decisions and competitors’ reactions can quickly change the picture.
Last week, reports emerged around Apple developing a new pair of Beats over-ear headphones, with the FCC leaking an outline of the headphones, model number A3577. Now, leading into the world cup, Lamine Yamal has just openly teased the new Beats headphones in an Instagram post, likely to be a successor to Beats Studio Pro.
Beats has had a long history of teasing upcoming products through celebrities, and this is no different. That said, I’d say this is slightly more substantial than usual – since these headphones look substantially different to their predecessors.
The current Beats Studio Pro released in 2023, and for the most part, they looked pretty similar to the previous Beats Studio 3 from 2019. USB-C, Spatial Audio, and improved ear cushions were introduced – but they largely shared the same design language.
These new Beats over-ears, potentially Beats Studio Pro 2, look very different. The headband looks somewhat similar to AirPods Max, with there being a thinner stem connecting to the ear cups that widens towards the top of your head. The cups also extrude from the ear cushions, rather than being a flush design.
It also comes in a pink colorway. The more recent Beats Solo 4 come in pink, though the existing Beats Studio Pro do not.
It’s unclear when these new Beats headphones will release, but they’ll likely be out quite soon since they’re already being teased in this manner.
One major downside to the existing Beats Studio Pro is that they switched away from using the Apple H1 chip, and instead use custom Beats silicon. This makes them better on Android, though the iOS experience is worse than previous Beats headphones and AirPods. Beats has reversed course with some of their newer headphones, like Powerbeats Fit and Powerbeats Pro 2, so it’s possible we’ll see the same here.
