The topic AMD 3D V-Cache is coming to pro workstations, and Lenovo’s ThinkStation P4 is… is currently the subject of lively discussion — readers and analysts are keeping a close eye on developments.

This is taking place in a dynamic environment: companies’ decisions and competitors’ reactions can quickly change the picture.

It’s a good idea to never sleep on workstation releases. While you might not find them as exciting as a new gaming PC, these models act as the backbone for the modern workforce and could end up being what you use to perform your day-to-day job. The good news is that Lenovo is doing impressive things within its ThinkStation and ThinkPad ranges, including bringing some claimed world firsts to market.

Everything you expect from a ThinkPad is here, packed into an ultraportable package

In an emailed press release, Lenovo gave us a sneak peek at what it’s planning for the productivity sector. The highlight of the show is the ThinkStation P4, which Lenovo claims is the first workstation in the world to feature both an AMD Ryzen Pro 9000 series processor and an Nvidia RTX Pro 600 Blackwell Workstation Edition GPU, with a thermal design and expandability for future hardware releases.

Lenovo also claims that some ThinkStation P4 models will feature the first-ever instance of AMD’s 3D V-Cache technologies in the professional world, making this a powerful option for people who want to get work done quickly and efficiently. Lenovo hopes to get the ThinkStation ready for a US release in August 2026.

Lenovo is also offering up a look at its new wave of ThinkPads. This includes the ThinkPad X13 Gen 7, designed for people who are always on the go. Lenovo claims that the X13 Gen 7 is one of the lightest ThinkPads it has ever built, weighing just over 2lbs. It can also be configured with either an Intel Core Ultra Series 3 or an AMD Ryzen AI Pro 400 series processor, and it comes with components you can swap out for easy repairs. The ThinkPad X13 is expected to be released this month, starting at $1,500.

To round off the announcements, we have the ThinkPad L14 Gen 7 and L16 Gen 3. These share the same processors as the X13 Gen 7 but are more affordable in a 14-inch form factor. These can come with up to 64GB DDR5 memory and up to 2TB of SSD storage, which should be more than enough for the average working professional. Both laptops release this month, starting at $1,440.
