The topic These Fitbit features won’t be available in the Google Health app: Badges, sleep… is currently the subject of lively discussion — readers and analysts are keeping a close eye on developments.

This is taking place in a dynamic environment: companies’ decisions and competitors’ reactions can quickly change the picture.

Ahead of the Google Health app rolling out next week, the company has detailed what Fitbit features are going away or significantly changing.

Google Health won’t bring over the Sleep Profile and monthly animals feature. Google says “Premium users can ask the Google Health Coach questions about what type of sleeper they are and get personalized responses.”

Snore Detection on the Fitbit Sense and Versa 3 is going away.

Estimated Oxygen Variation (EOV) is no longer available, with SpO2 data (Health tab) being the replacement.

Your VO2 max will be calculated during runs with GPS data and can now include data from connected third-party apps. As part of these changes, your score will no longer be calculated based on your demographics, such as your height and weight.

A personalized weekly cardio target replaces the daily goal.

This flexible approach helps you focus on consistent progress over time; if you have a busy day or feel sick, you can make up the load later in the week.

Google is getting rid of new badges and ones you’ve previously collected. Instead, the Health Coach “will help to celebrate your progress and accomplishment.”

The updated Social profile switches to your Google Account name and profile picture. On first launch, “you will be prompted to approve sharing this information,” along with email address. This new profile will no longer show “sex, height, weight, location, or friends list.”

Additionally, Google Health is getting rid of direct messages, Groups, and the Community Feed.

On the old Fitbit app, “social experiences will be locked starting May 12, 2026.”

This means you won’t be able to add or remove friends, and your leaderboard won’t update. This pause is to help prepare your experience in the Google Health app.

When you update to the Google Health app, you can manage your friends again and compete with them on your weekly leaderboard which now supports steps and Cardio Load.
