The topic Waymo: Where it’s available, upcoming cities, and new features [April 2026] is currently the subject of lively discussion — readers and analysts are keeping a close eye on developments.

This is taking place in a dynamic environment: companies’ decisions and competitors’ reactions can quickly change the picture.

Waymo autonomous vehicles date back to Google’s self-driving car project that started in 2009. As of today, you can get a ride in 11 cities across the US.

At the moment, Waymo makes use of a white Jaguar I-Pace with various sensors all around the vehicle. There’s also a dome at the top that displays your initials upon arrival.

In early access cities, Waymo lets people that have downloaded the app and signed up access the service. New riders are invited on a rolling basis to “ensure a seamless experience.”
