We wanted to let you know that your Remote Watch Pass introductory pricing is ending on June 1st, 2026. While Plex is the most polished and streamlined self-hosted media app out there, the additional cost of a Plex Pass, which also adds other more advanced features like hardware transcoding, the ability to automatically skip content intro and credits, and live TV tuner compatibility, has resulted in a lot of people shifting to Jellyfin, an open-source alternative.<\/p>\n

Now that Remote Watch Pass subscriptions have also increased in cost, I can see more users jumping ship. On the other hand, this increased cost makes Plex Pass’ $250 lifetime subscription feel a bit more attractive.<\/p>\n
