Because all three of Moto\u2019s foldables are pretty slim on actual generational upgrades, you\u2019re effectively getting a near-identical device for around half off its original $1,300 MSRP (a price that, remember, is going up to $1,500 with this new release). You\u2019ll have to make a couple of sacrifices, specifically around the Razr Ultra\u2019s battery capacity, but considering the savings on display here, it\u2019s ultimately worth one or two relatively minor trade-offs.<\/p>\n

Before we detail what you\u2019re sacrificing, though, let\u2019s break down what these current offers actually are. Motorola\u2019s web store offers the best deal around: a 1TB Razr Ultra in any color but Cabaret for just $800, plus a free pair of last year\u2019s Moto Buds+. That\u2019s prior to accounting for additional discounts with trade-ins \u2014 and Motorola seems to be giving most devices an additional $65 in value right now \u2014 and nearly cuts the original 1TB Razr Ultra\u2019s price in half. It\u2019s also now the only way to get a Razr with a full terabyte of storage, as Motorola is discontinuing that offer with this year\u2019s release.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s an incredible deal on its own, but if you\u2019d rather buy from Amazon or Best Buy, you have a couple of options that might fit your situation a little better. Right now, Amazon\u2019s discount is arguably the worst of the bunch, offering the Razr Ultra in Rio Red or Cabaret for $800. However, this is just the 512GB model, and it doesn\u2019t include a free pair of earbuds alongside it. If you have Amazon gift cards or prefer the storefront\u2019s easy return policy, though, it\u2019s still a great deal.<\/p>\n

Best Buy is actually going one step further, offering last year\u2019s Razr Ultra in any color but Cabaret for just $700 \u2014 or $600 if you\u2019re willing to activate the phone through Verizon or AT&T at checkout. Even without activation, that\u2019s $600 less than its MSRP, and a whopping $800 less than the price of the phone replacing it, despite sacrificing virtually nothing towards your overall experience.<\/p>\n

Actually, now\u2019s the perfect time to talk sacrifices. The Razr Ultra model set to replace this one in a few short weeks features a larger 5,000mAh battery \u2014 up from 4,700mAh \u2014 improved front cover glass, and a minor upgrade to its main camera that brings LOFIC technologies to that 50MP main sensor for enhanced dynamic range. Aside from a couple of additional (and minor) software tweaks, that\u2019s the full list of changes. All of this is nice to have, sure, but no one is going to agree it\u2019s worth paying anywhere between $700 and $900 more for these tweaks and a handful of new colors and finishes.<\/p>\n

Even the argument that could usually win out here \u2014 upgrades \u2014 doesn\u2019t exactly apply to Motorola\u2019s hardware. Both the 2025 and 2026 Razr Ultras will get three major OS upgrades, with last year\u2019s model getting four years of bi-monthly security patches and its successor\u2019s getting five. That puts this discounted model on track for two more OS upgrades (through Android 18) with security support through 2029. While the 2026 variant will see Android 19 and support through 2031, Motorola\u2019s reputation on timely upgrades is so bad, it\u2019s still not enough to justify waiting for the new model.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know how long this discount will continue \u2014 frankly, I\u2019m surprised it didn\u2019t end with today\u2019s announcement. If you\u2019re at all interested in picking up a Razr Ultra, I highly suggest cashing in on these deals. No matter which retailer you opt for, it\u2019s a great price for a pretty great phone.<\/p>\n
