Accessory maker Turtle Beach has revealed a new entry in its Command Series of keyboards and mice, the Command Series MC7, its flagship mouse that features pretty much every high-end spec out there, including even a 2.25-inch touch screen.<\/p>\n

The mouse offers a classic ergonomic shape reminiscent of the Logitech MX Master 4 I use every day, except there’s a screen on the right side where the horizontal scroll wheel would usually be.While my headline might seem a little harsh, in reality, I can actually see this built-in display being pretty useful. for example, you can add quick toggles like muting\/unmuting your mic, computer stats like your CPU temperature, and OBS shortcuts. You can also program it to swap weapons in-game, display how much ammo you have, and more\u2014 the options seem pretty endless.<\/p>\n

Other Command Series MC7 features include Turtle Beach’s 30,000 DPI “Owl-Eye” optical sensor, along with optical switches for both right and left mouse clicks. There’s a scroll wheel that can be switched between free-flow and regular clicks, just like most Logitech mice. The polling rate comes in at 8K, making it great for gaming, and it connects via a dedicated 2.4GHz dongle, allowing you to avoid potential Bluetooth pitfalls.<\/p>\n

Other notable specs include a 1,000 mAh battery that you can easily hot-swap and a charging base that lets you power up the battery while you continue gaming the night away.<\/p>\n

Turtle Beach says that the Command Series MC7 costs $160 and launches on July 19th. There’s also a cheaper MC5 option at $120 that doesn’t include a built-in screen or swappable batteries, but still features the 8K polling rate, and the wired MC3, an $80 mouse that offers the same polling rate. Alongside its new mice, Turtle Beach also revealed the low-profile KB7 keyboard with a built-in 4.3-inch touch screen.I’m old enough to remember when Turtle Beach was best known for making the cheap Nintendo 64 controller with permanent stick drift that you gave to your little brother when you were playing GoldenEye 007 multiplayer, but the accessory maker has come a long way since then. While I wouldn’t call its controllers, keyboards, and headsets high-end, they’re still pretty well-made and, in many cases, offer unique features, like the MC7’s built-in display.<\/p>\n
