As it turns out, the KDE community is still trucking ahead with adding features to Plasma 6.7, and one of the most interesting ones is related to Intel chips. If you have an Intel laptop, you may notice that KDE Plasma will not only perform better, but take less of a toll on your device’s battery.<\/p>\n

The KDE community has published the new This Week in Plasma post over on the official website. The most notable feature in this week’s post is earmarked for KDE Plasma 6.7, which will enable an “overlay planes” feature for Intel GPUs. As long as the apps and games you use play nicely with overlay planes, you should notice they run better and use less battery, which sounds great.<\/p>\n

Apart from that, the Flatpak store Discover is also receiving a bit of a revamp. If you thought Discover was already easy enough to use, KDE Plasma 6.7 will make it even easier to navigate:<\/p>\n

Discover now has fancier application page headers with more obvious install buttons! (Oliver Beard, discover MR #1297)<\/p>\n

Discover no longer disables the \u201cMore Information\u201d button on list items for in-progress updates. (Tobias Fella, KDE Bugzilla #431719)<\/p>\n

KDE Plasma 6.7 will also fix a nasty bug where the desktop environment will constantly bug you with warnings if an automatic update to a Flatpak app introduces a compatibility issue. Now it should sound the alarm only once.<\/p>\n
