Apple first introduced the series as an original work, but later pulled it from its release calendar at the last minute due to claims of plagiarism. It was reportedly inspired by Douglas Fairbairn\u2019s novel Shoot\u2014unbeknownst to Apple. After a rights deal was agreed to, the show got a new release date.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s always possible a second season could happen, but due to the mess around the show\u2019s origins, that seems unlikely.<\/p>\n

The Last Thing He Told Me similarly has novels as its source material. The first season was based on the novel of the same name by author Laura Dave. Its second season was based on the sequel that released earlier this year.<\/p>\n
