Developer Sam Henri Gold found some sort of system prompt for codename B790 within iOS 27 beta 2, highlighting many key details for how these AirPods with cameras could work with Visual Intelligence:<\/p>\n

Given the \u201ctwo images from cameras on either side of user\u2019s head\u201d bit, it\u2019s almost certain that B790 is in reference to the rumored AirPods with cameras. Gold initially speculated that this would be for Apple AI glasses, but given the codename \u2013 it\u2019s probably the AirPods with cameras.<\/p>\n

One weird quirk here is that the codename in this software leak is B790, whereas Bloomberg reports that the codename is B798. However, it\u2019s possible this could just be representative of varying stages of development.<\/p>\n

AirPods with cameras were expected to debut sometime this year, but have since been delayed because of software mishaps. Now, AirPods with cameras should debut next fall, alongside the 20th anniversary iPhone.<\/p>\n

In theory, they\u2019ll serve useful for being able to ask Siri contextual questions about your environment. You\u2019ll be able to use Visual Intelligence without pulling out your iPhone \u2013 making it much quicker.<\/p>\n
