XREAL Aura, the company\u2019s first pair of Android XR glasses, are officially set to launch this Fall, but we don\u2019t have a price just yet. All we know is that, according to the data XREAL, Aura will cost under $1,500.<\/p>\n

As we covered earlier this afternoon, XREAL Aura reservations are now open. Customers can pay $99 or $299 to hold their spot for the \u201cportable spatial computing glasses, powered by Android XR,\u201d as XREAL puts it.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s to be determined, but XREAL has confirmed the price won\u2019t go beyond $1,500, at least for the base model. A footnote explains:<\/p>\n

The final retail price of the base model will not exceed US$1,500, excluding applicable taxes.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s rather likely that $1,500 is the price XREAL is aiming for, but it\u2019s very possible that this all depends on market conditions. With how unstable the cost of certain components such as memory has been, XREAL could be hoping for a lower price, but saying $1,500 to give itself some wiggle room.<\/p>\n

XREAL One Pro sells for $599 following a recent price cut, and it\u2019s not quite as advanced as XREAL Aura from a hardware perspective. The Android XR system has a wider field-of-view, an included puck with battery and computing smarts, as well as built-in cameras. If you include XREAL Eye, a camera system add-on, and XREAL Beam Pro, an Android phone used to power the glasses, you land somewhere in the $900-950 ballpark, only a few hundred short of XREAL Aura\u2019s project price tag.<\/p>\n

Is it a good value? That\u2019s up to you, but comparing it to XREAL\u2019s existing hardware shows that a $1,500 price tag is at least not totally crazy.<\/p>\n
