\u201cAsk Home\u201d via voice (including smart speakers) is now available in \u201call\u201d markets where Gemini for Home is supported, which includes Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Several of these regions already had support, but now all Gemini for Home users can ask their voice assistant questions that Gemini answer using real-time information from smart home devices and Nest Cam.<\/p>\n

Also newly added to that list is Germany, which as of today has early access support for the Gemini for Home voice assistant. This also includes German language support in Austria, Switzerland, and, of course, Germany.<\/p>\n

The biggest addition here, though, is \u201cPet Memory\u201d for Nest Cam.<\/p>\n

Through \u201cAsk Home,\u201d you can now tell Gemini your pet\u2019s name and description, and Gemini will leverage that in future notifications and in response to your questions. So \u201ca dog is walking in your kitchen\u201d becomes \u201cFido is walking in the kitchen.\u201d Google says this requires the Google Home Premium Advanced plan:<\/p>\n

Pet Memory:\u00a0We know your pets are an important part of your home, so now,\u00a0your camera can tell you that \u201cFido is walking in the kitchen\u201d instead of just \u201cA dog is walking in the kitchen\u201d. Your indoor Nest cameras (and select\u00a0Gemini built-in cameras) are now more personal with the ability to remember key details about your pets. Simply go to\u00a0Ask Home\u00a0in the Home app and share your pet\u2019s name and type. By remembering these details, we reduce misidentifications and can give you important, personalized updates \u2013 like letting you know when\u00a0Fido\u00a0is playing in the living room! Requires the\u00a0Advanced plan\u00a0of Google Home Premium.<\/p>\n

All of these updates are rolling out now for early access users.<\/p>\n
