During the \u201cWhat\u2019s new in Android\u201d segment of I\/O 2026 \u2013 also teased during the Developer Cut of last week\u2019s Android Show \u2013 Google snuck in the reveal that Magic Cue on Pixel 10 is getting a couple of key changes.<\/p>\n

First, it\u2019s coming to more apps. Magic Cue will soon start showing suggestions when you are using Snapchat. Google implies more apps beyond Snapchat will be supported, but that\u2019s the only one directly mentioned. The idea of expanded functionality isn\u2019t a surprise, though, as there\u2019s evidence Google is also working to let Magic Cue leverage information from Tasks and Wallet.<\/p>\n

Magic Cue is also getting a redesign, it seems, with the chip moving to the bottom of the display. This should allow it to work with third-party keyboards, but Google hasn\u2019t directly said as much.<\/p>\n

Previously, Magic Cue would appear within app UIs (such as Google Messages, pictured below), as well as within Gboard\u2019s top row suggestions section. The new UI more closely aligns the feature with Gemini, as launching Gemini also opens from the bottom of the display with a similar glow design.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear when this might roll out, but it\u2019s nice to see Google expanding on an underused part of the Pixel 10 series.<\/p>\n
