The topic YouTube will stream Coachella from Google Pixel phones, adding 4K is currently the subject of lively discussion — readers and analysts are keeping a close eye on developments.
This is taking place in a dynamic environment: companies’ decisions and competitors’ reactions can quickly change the picture.
YouTube has just revealed details on how it will broadcast Coachella next week, including support for multiview, 4K streams, and even a feed shot by Google Pixel.

Starting on April 10, YouTube will be the place to watch the Coachella music festival from home. It all starts next Friday at 4pm PDT (7pm EDT). You can already set notifications for the livestream.
In a blog post, Google has a few details to share on the Coachella viewing experience on YouTube this year. This includes livestreams of seven different stages at the festival, including both horizontal and vertical streams from the Quasar stage. The vertical streams, YouTube says, will be shot on Google Pixel devices, “exclusively,” the Coachella website adds:
Bringing even more live music to YouTube Shorts, we’re executing a dedicated vertical livestream with exclusive angles, filmed fully on Pixel devices.
Also new this year, the Coachella Stage, Outdoor Theatre and Sahara will all be livestreamed in 4K.

A 24/7 “Coachella TV” station will also be available, with an “interactive and uninterrupted music viewing experience featuring both iconic archival performances and 2026 festival highlights.” This is already available with highlights from past years.
YouTube is also bringing back multiview support to Coachella this year, at least on TVs.
Last year, over half of Coachella’s total livestream watchtime came from the living room. With Multiview, fans don’t have to choose between their favorite sets. They can stream up to four stages at once on their TVs and effortlessly toggling between audio feeds for a custom festival experience from home.
As mentioned, YouTube’s livestreams of Coachella 2026 start on April 10. You can see the full lineup of artists on the Coachella website.
