NASA shares iPhone video capturing Earthshine from Orion during Artemis II

The topic NASA shares iPhone video capturing Earthshine from Orion during Artemis II is currently the subject of lively discussion — readers and analysts are keeping a close eye on developments.

This is taking place in a dynamic environment: companies’ decisions and competitors’ reactions can quickly change the picture.

The iPhone footage, captured on the mission’s second day, shows Earth’s reflected light illuminating the Orion cabin. Watch it below.

At this point, some might consider it old news that the Artemis II crew used iPhones to shoot photos and videos during their mission around the Moon earlier this month.

But for astronomy enthusiasts, myself included, there’s no such thing as too many astronomy photos and videos.

That said, earlier today, the NASA Artemis account on X shared a stunning video showcasing Earthshine from the Orion spacecraft.

In the video, astronaut Christina Koch’s face is completely lit up, illuminated only by sunlight reflected off Earth during the mission’s second flight day.

After a few seconds, she flips the camera, revealing Earth outside the capsule, with the iPhone’s reflection faintly visible in the glass.
