The topic Nvidia Shield TV (2019) appears to have been quietly discontinued, maybe is currently the subject of lively discussion — readers and analysts are keeping a close eye on developments.
This is taking place in a dynamic environment: companies’ decisions and competitors’ reactions can quickly change the picture.
It seems that the 7-year-old but still-latest Nvidia Shield TV model has been quietly discontinued, but one still remains.

The Nvidia Shield TV series is a beloved lineup in the streaming world, but it hasn’t seen a notable update in a long time. The last release was back in 2019, including a base tube-shaped Shield TV as well as the Shield TV Pro that kept the form factor of prior releases.
The former appears to have vanished, potentially even having been discontinued.
AFTVNews noticed that the Shield TV (2019) has gone out of stock at most retailers, with B&H Photo marking the tubular streamer as “discontinued.” Best Buy marks the device as “inactive,” with all listing details having disappeared. In fact, Nvidia’s own site has stopped selling the base model, while every single retailer it links to – Amazon, Best Buy, Newegg, Walmart, Micro Center, B&H Photo, and NEX – is either out of stock or only selling used/third-party units.
This does not seem to be affecting Shield TV Pro (2019) in any capacity.

Nvidia said just a few months ago that it had no plans to end support or even production of the Shield, but it’s not hard to imagine something mught have changed in the past several months given everything that’s going on in the tech world right now.
The base Shield TV (2019), while solid, was never the fan favorite, with most people wanting to buy a Shield TV for the sake of the extra ports and functionality that were exclusive to the Pro in the first place. At $149, the base Shield was a hard sell in a market where Google TV Streamer ($99) and Onn 4K Pro ($59) are both available, offering more functionality and newer hardware for a lower price point.
Nvidia hasn’t outright confirmed this is the end of the road for Shield TV, but the writing is clearly on the wall for the tube-shaped one.
As for Shield TV Pro, it’s still widely available at Amazon, Best Buy, and other retailers.
